The gaming sound system CONCEPT E 450 Digital has an integrated 5.1 sound card that can be controlled via USB. Learn how to set up the sound card and adjust the bass here.
To set up the sound card (Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 only)
Note: Under Windows 10, 11 or Mac OSX systems, the sound card is detected directly. No additional installation is necessary.
The Concept E 450 Digital only requires a USB cable connection to the computer and the so-called driver software, which you can download free of charge from the specially created sound card setup page with detailed step-by-step instructions.

After installing the driver, the computer has a "USB Multi-Channel Audio Device" with a wide range of settings, including activating the subwoofer, a surround configuration and adjusting the input and output mode. So after a few mouse clicks, you're ready to go. Because by integrating the sound card directly into the sound system the connection from the computer to the connected satellites and subwoofer has already been made.

The now activated 5.1 USB sound card offers real 5.1 surround sound in high 24-bit quality and is 100% compatible with Blu-ray and gaming soundtracks.
Not enough bass in USB mode?
Here's how to optimize bass performance :
- The Concept E 450 Digital starts in DOLBY PRO LOGIC mode when connected via USB. In this mode, all frequencies below 150 Hz from all channels are input to the subwoofer. In 5.1 mode, the bass only receives the subwoofer channel of the respective game. The volume of the woofer can be adjusted via the driver and on the CONCEPT E 450 Bass itself.
- The subwoofer channel can be boosted significantly by activating the "Flexible Bass II", which is deactivated by default. To do this, right-click on "Speaker" and then "Flexible Bass II". Activate the checkbox here and set the value of the crossover frequency to 150 Hz. This classifies all channels as "small speakers", which significantly increases the bass content.
- Alternatively, the subwoofer can be connected to the 5.1 output via mini-jack or to the optical output of the computer via an optical cable, if available.
Too little bass when used with a TV set?
If you have connected your CONCEPT E 450 Digital to your TV set using an optical or coaxial cable via the DIGITAL IN OPTICAL connector and have set the output to 5.1 CH, but the input signal consists of fewer channels, the Concept E 450 Digital will generate an upmix and output the sound in PRO LOGIC II. In this case, change the audio format from PCM to Auto in the audio settings of your TV set.
Is there a smartphone app for the devil CONCEPT E 450 system?
No, there is no app for the Concept E 450 Digital, as the system does not require one. If you want to stream content via Bluetooth, this is of course supported by the Bluetooth receiver (currently with standard 4.0).
