Advantages of a second subwoofer
Quantity: The sound power is significantly increased by the second cone surface and the additional amplifier = louder bass.
Quality: Room acoustics can be significantly improved by a second subwoofer. This is because every room has a room resonance frequency at which the frequency emitted by the speaker is additionally amplified by the room - the result is often booming or reverberating bass. A second subwoofer can counteract this frequency, resulting in drier, cleaner bass.
How to connect a second subwoofer
Take a look at your AV receiver or amplifier. Does it have two separate subwoofer outputs?
If yes, then you can connect two subwoofers with one subwoofer cable each.
If not, you can use an RCA crossover cable (1 x plug to 2 x socket, available from specialist dealers).
Tuning two subwoofers
We recommend turning up the volume level controls on both subwoofers. Then listen to a track you know that is very bass intensive. Alternatively, you can also use the test tone of the AV receiver/amplifier. Now ask a second person to lower and then raise the volume of one subwoofer and then the other. For a little help, you can also disconnect the normal speakers so that only the subwoofers are playing. The two subwoofers are set up correctly when you have the feeling that both are equally loud.
