CAGE (2019): The microphone has dropouts during operation or does not work at all.

 

This FAQ refers to the first generation CAGE, CAGE (2019).

If no sound is transmitted through the microphone, the microphone may not be plugged in properly.

The clip-on microphone arm of the CAGE (2019) has a small plastic wedge on its connector plug that is easy to overlook. This wedge serves to hold it securely in one of the three possible plug-in positions on the connector. Properly inserted on one of the three notches (see below), the arm can be easily plugged on.

If the microphone does not plug on easily, please perform a visual check for the correct plug-in position and carefully plug in the microphone arm without applying pressure until it is correctly connected.

Avoid forceful screwing as this may damage the plastic wedge.
