REAL BLUE/BLUE NC: Frequently asked questions

Note: This article only refers to the older REAL BLUE and REAL BLUE NC models. You can find help for other headphone models in this overview.

How can I tell which version of the REAL BLUE/BLUE NC I have?

The older models REAL PURE, BLUE (2020) and REAL BLUE NC (2020) have a red fabric cover inside the earphones. The REAL BLUE/BLUE NC models (available since Nov. 2021), on the other hand, are only equipped with a black fabric cover. The latest model, the REAL BLUE NC 3 (available since January 2025), has a microphone opening below the devil logo.

Can the REAL BLUE/BLUE NC headphones be used with a Sony PlayStation4 via Bluetooth?

Only certain headphones/headsets are approved by the game console manufacturer.

The devil REAL BLUE/BLUE NC models do not work with the PS4 via Bluetooth as they are not licensed for this.

REAL BLUE NC: Can the noise suppression (ANC) also be used without audio playback?

The active noise cancellation (ANC) of the REAL BLUE NC also works - when switched on - without sound playback.
Note: The Real Blue NC automatically switches off the ANC function when there is no signal. It switches off after 100 minutes.

REAL BLUE/BLUE NC: The smartphone* shows the battery as "half empty" although it is fully charged

The smartphone* only displays the battery status of connected Bluetooth devices in the following steps: Full, Half Full or Empty. The "Full" display appears between 100% and 95% of the actual charge level. If the charge level falls below 95%, the battery is already displayed as "Half empty". (As of April 2019)

*Only for smartphones that support the function

Tip: If you want to read out the battery status of a connected smartphone more precisely, you can use additional apps or widgets.

REAL BLUE NC: Do the headphones also work via the supplied jack cable on the PC?

Note: This article is relevant for all models of the REAL BLUE/BLUE NC

The headphones work with the included jack cable on the smartphone as an alternative to Bluetooth.

On a PC with Windows 10, connect the 4-pin plug to the headphone output (PC). Then select the desired function (e.g. headphones). The remote control will have no function on the PC.

REAL BLUE NC: Can I use the headphones as a headset on the PC via Bluetooth?

Note: This article is relevant for all models of the REAL BLUE/BLUE NC

The headset function of the REAL BLUE NC can be used if the paired device also supports this function. To do this, the paired device must be able to both send and receive audio signals via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, many older devices such as televisions, laptops, PCs etc. do not support this. If necessary, ask the manufacturer of the connected device for more details.

REAL BLUE/REAL BLUE NC: Which devices are the headphones compatible with?

REAL BLUE/BLUE NC is compatible with all devices that support Bluetooth. This includes iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows and Mac OS devices.

REAL BLUE/BLUE NC: Can I use the headphones for sports?

The devil Real Blue and Real Blue NC are perfectly suitable for sports activities. However, they are not specially protected against moisture and are therefore not suitable for "sweaty" activities.
REAL BLUE/REAL BLUE NC: Do the headphones only work wirelessly via Bluetooth?

The REAL BLUE and REAL BLUE NC headphone models can also be used via a cable connection. Corresponding cables are included with the devices.

REAL PURE/BLUE/BLUE NC: I can't hear anything with my headphones. What could be the reason?

Note: This article is relevant for all REAL BLUE/BLUE NC models.

Possible cause 1: The 3.5 mm cable is not connected correctly.

Solution: Connect the 3.5 mm cable correctly to the headphones.

On a Windows 10 computer, connect the 4-pin plug to the headphone output of the computer.

Possible cause 2: There is no Bluetooth connection (only with BLUE / BLUE NC).

Solution: Establish a Bluetooth® connection. Go within range of the player.

Possible cause 3: Volume set too low. Increase the volume on the player and/or headphones.
