How do I establish a Bluetooth® connection?
Pairing connects your audio source/player with the ROCKSTER AIR 2.
- First switch on the ROCKSTER AIR 2.
- Switch on the Bluetooth® function on your external player (e.g. smartphone).
- Press and hold the Bluetooth® button (9) on the ROCKSTER AIR 2 for 2 seconds.
- You will hear a signal tone and the LED in the button (9) will flash blue.
- Let your player/smartphone search for new Bluetooth® devices.
- "ROCKSTER AIR 2" should appear in the list of devices found after the search.
- Select "ROCKSTER AIR 2" from the list of devices found.
- A signal tone sounds and the LED in the button (9) lights up blue continuously.
- Pairing is complete. The Bluetooth® device is connected to the ROCKSTER AIR 2 and you can use the speaker as an output device.
- Adjust the volume using the master volume control (13) and the input volume control (20).
How can I clear the Bluetooth® list?
Press and hold the Bluetooth® button (9) for 8 seconds. As soon as you hear a signal tone, the Bluetooth® list is cleared.
How do I pair several devices with each other?
- The ROCKSTER AIR 2 can either be connected wirelessly to another ROCKSTER AIR 2 or wired to up to 10 other speakers. You can find out how this works in the article Pairing the ROCKSTER AIR 2 with other devil devices
- Please note that when connecting two ROCKSTER AIR 2s wirelessly, Bluetooth devices such as smartphones can be used.
- More than two devices can only be connected via XLR cables.
Can I connect devices such as a microphone & guitar?
The ROCKSTER AIR 2 has an instrument input (6.3 mm) and an analog XLR combo input (6.3 mm and XLR). This allows you to connect a guitar and a microphone at the same time, for example. Details can be found in the operating instructions on p. 17-19.
You can only connect your microphone via cable - Bluetooth is unfortunately not supported.
Sound output is very quiet or completely inaudible
- The volume may be set too low. Try increasing the volume on the master volume control and the input volume control of the ROCKSTER AIR 2.
- The output volume on the external player may be too low. Increase the volume on the external player (e.g. smartphone) as a test.
- The ROCKSTER AIR 2 is not connected to the player. Check the connection or connect an external player via Bluetooth or Aux.
- The ROCKSTER AIR 2 is not set as an output device on the player. Check the audio output settings on the external player.
- The Bluetooth connection may be affected by interference from another wireless system. Test a different location.
- For players with Android operating system: The volume limiter on the player may be active. Deactivate this on the Android device.
The ROCKSTER AIR 2 won't start. What could be the cause?
- The battery may not (yet) be sufficiently charged. Connect the device to electric power and fully charge the battery.
- The power button was pressed too briefly when trying to switch on. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds until an LED animation runs and a tone sequence sounds and the device starts.
What do I do if the ROCKSTER AIR 2 no longer responds?
- Check whether the ROCKSTER AIR 2 is waiting for an input or whether the player is paused.
- Disconnect the Bluetooth® connection if necessary.
- Disconnect the power supply and restart the speaker.
- If this does not help and the speaker still does not respond, perform a hardware reset. To do this, press the power button (8) and the play/pause button (10) at the same time and hold them down for 5 seconds.
