Important information about the control panel
Long and high exposure to heat (e.g. sun) on the upper ROCKSTER AIR control panel may cause deformation of the rotary controls, as they may become soft due to the heat exposure.
Therefore, please avoid long and direct sunlight on the control panel.
Device not working in battery mode
After unpacking the ROCKSTER AIR for the first time, you need to charge the battery by connecting the device to AC power for about 12 hours and setting the "Power Mode" switch to "Permanent" - the device can only be charged in this mode.
During charging, the BATTERY STATUS LEDs (20) show the charge status.
Battery care tip
Does high volume and strong bass have an effect on battery life?
Yes, high volumes and strong bass require a lot of energy and consequently may lead to shorter battery life.
The battery does not charge and/or discharges very quickly
Are replacement batteries available?
A new battery (LiFePO4) with deep discharge protection can be found here.
Device not usable despite being truned on. The LEDs light up
Error : The ROCKSTER AIR (1) is switched on, the LED ring around the volume control lights up bright/dark in sections, but the controls appear to be frozen and do nothing.
Cause: Playback mode of the ROCKSTER AIR is set to "Link in".
Solution: Please check if the slide switch (11) of the Rockster Air is set to "Link in" by mistake and set the switch to "Line In" (feed player via cable) or "MIC" (microphone) instead.
Note: You will find the slide switch (11) on the top left of the back of the device. The Link In function is only to be selected if you have paired two ROCKSTER AIR via XLR cable.
Connecting using Bluetooth®
Bluetooth® connection is only possible in master mode - Bluetooth® is deactivated when used as a companion.
Pairing/establishing a Bluetooth® connection
To output the sound from your source via Bluetooth® on your ROCKSTER AIR, you must first connect the devices to each other. This is called "pairing".
- Press the control (26) until the blue ring flashes briefly once (after approx. two seconds).
The ring starts to flash blue every second. The ROCKSTER AIR now waits for a Bluetooth® connection for approx. 60 seconds. - Switch on the Bluetooth® function on your source device (e.g. smartphone).
- Let your source device search for Bluetooth® devices. You can find more information on this in the operating manual for your source device. After the search, "Rockster Air" should also appear in the list of devices found.
- Select the ROCKSTER AIR from the list of devices found. The ROCKSTER AIR will now play all the sounds that would otherwise be played by your source device.
- If you want to pair a second source device, repeat steps 1 to 4 with the second device.
Clearing the Bluetooth® list
To clear the Bluetooth list, press and hold the control (26) and then release. The active device is then cleared. If you press and hold the control (26) even longer, the list of saved devices will be deleted completely. This can help with problems with the Bluetooth connection
Is there a protective cover/carrying case?
We do not offer a protective cover/carrying case for the ROCKSTER AIR. The device is of course robust enough to be used outdoors without additional protection.
However, the device is currently neither waterproof nor has splash water certification - so please keep an eye on the ROCKSTER AIR if the weather changes or moisture is nearby.
Is there a remote control?
A remote control for basic functions is included with the device.
Please note:
The ON button on the remote control only works when the device is connected to AC power. In battery mode, the appliance must be switched on manually.
Can the device be paired with the large ROCKSTER?
A connection between the two "related" devices is indeed technically possible. An XLR cable (not included) is required to establish the connection. We offer this cable here.
You can find more information in the article ROCKSTER AIR: Can two devices be paired?
